Embodied Unlearning

Embodied Unlearning

Last weekend I had the honor of receiving medicine from @dr.rosalesmeza in an experiential class “Unlearning & Divesting from the White Colonial Mind” for Whyte folx.

After three days of a deeper, embodied unlearning of the Whyte colonial mind, I am witnessing a shift in my own heart consciousness and body.

In my many experiences of spiritual spaces led by Whyte women, I see how there is often no mention of how we can align ourselves and our spiritual businesses with divesting from the colonial Whyte mind. It is usually not mentioned as an option or a reality.

As a Whyte person who has benefited from hundreds of years of violent oppression & exploitation of BIPOC (both overt and covert), I see how Whyte inferiority (supremacy) continues in white dominant spaces especially.

I will be sharing more of my experiences and passion on this topic.

As I learned from @dr.rosalesmeza, everything is colonial (except Indigenous spaces). To an eye opened deeper, this means there is so much opportunity to divest.

I am a student of unlearning the Whyte colonial mind. As a Whyte person, I am peripheral to my BIPOC teachers and friends who are centered and leading this movement.

I am also learning how to use my voice to name divesting from the Whyte colonial mind - which is part of unlearning being oppressed by Whyte colonialism AND being oppressive as a Whyte colonizer.

If you are white, I encourage you to join in unlearning and be in alignment with BIPOC. This is lifelong work and it is an EMBODIMENT because our bodies speak to us and help us know what it in alignment with all of life and what is not (thank you for helping me REMEMBER this, Dr. Meza).

May we all be free from the violent oppression of life in all forms.
