August 2021: Heart Calls, Resistance, Daily Devotion, New Pathway to the Akashic Records
Leigh Aschoff — Heart Peace Advocate, Healing Practitioner & Energy Body Mechanics Educator
What are you seeking?
What are you resisting?
How is your daily devotional practice going?
What new pathways to insight are you creating?
I choose to begin this piece with reflective questions for you, based on my own outline of what I will be expanding on and sharing with you here.
What I am Seeking:
As I continue to nurture and grow my private healing practice, I am actively seeking referrals and opportunities to speak about the healing techniques I offer (primarily in virtual spaces however I am on the east coast for the summer and am open to in-person opportunities within the NYC area).
How can you help?
Please keep me in mind and share with those you know about my private practice and that I am here, with these incredible healing techniques to support others. I envision the resonance from my sharing about what I do to reach further and further out, every day, every hour, every minute, every breath. Synchronicity I envision often. And prayer from heart, during my devotional practice and throughout my daily life, is also a large part of my focus.
Resistance and Daily Devotional Connection:
I am often resisting the very thing I am seeking.
My deeper inquiry has shown me my Akashic role is CONNECTION. Even so, I have been resisting my daily devotional practice AND at the same time also seeking “it” and what “it” will connect me with (myself, an energy much more vast than my human self, community, work, love, relational healing, deeper connection to presence and my own wisdom, being able to be of service from a clear, grounded place, et cetera…).
I sometimes struggle with resistance to my daily devotional practice. My human self often takes the lead and wants to rush into action before even sitting quietly to connect, ground, inquire to heart, breathe and converse with my team for support and guidance.

I have replenished my daily devotional practice by setting up a new devotional space. My cherished altar is currently in storage (how could I not have sent that along with me?) however I have created a new one. Where I am currently staying, there is actually a small wooden table that is perfect for my daily practice. Right now my new altar is sparse however Raja, our beloved guardian, has sat on it a few times. He likes it too and that’s a sweetness I also cherish.
Sometimes I find that sharing my experience of resistance with a person I trust and experience as supportive is helpful to moving beyond or through the inactive stance resistance can bring. This was the case this weekend and I am so grateful for this. I mention this because to be seen and heard, to be received as we are, is not only a gift but an experience that invites great expansion and healing potential.
My morning devotional practice is currently set at one hour. For this morning time, I breathe, I open my Akashic Records for dialogue and guidance, I (maybe) pull a tarot card for the day, I pray out loud, from heart, and surrender my heart callings and ask for presence of Divine Love and the energy of Higher Power / Source to be with me in my daily life as I walk the path of my heart callings. I also practice yoga for part of this hour. Guidance has led me to connect with my breath and my body. This renewed daily practice will also reinvigorate the experiential wisdom I received during the years I immersed myself in those healing techniques (Hatha, Therapeutic and Yin all offer incredible expansion and healing that I cherish very much).
New Pathway to the Akashic Records:
I am in the process of a year long training with my teacher, Helen Vonderheide, and our incredible community of advanced Akashic practitioners. The experience has been absolutely profound and I have written my own pathway to the Akashic Records.
This pathway is designed based on my own inner wisdom and intuitive voice. As I have moved through this in-depth, experiential process with Helen and community, I have been repeatedly in awe of how much there is to discover creatively, within myself and within my connection to energy much more expansive than myself.
The experiential classes are oriented towards each person’s own inner and intuitive creative discovery process. The material and subsequent work study that has come from this experience is absolutely incredible. I have a document with 57 questions for further Akashic inquiry beyond the scope of the classes. My notes from each class have been 30+ pages and all of the notes are from within me — information coming through me based on the inquiry guidance offered by Helen throughout the process. My notes from class are not copied from what Helen or others shared before. My notes are from the guided inquiry we all experience throughout the process. This is a new way of receiving spiritual guidance that goes beyond the limitations of more standard educational dynamics.
What I see as essential to the evolution of healing trainings is a bridge to honor the practitioners own wisdom and guidance. We are moving away from one size fits all and one timeline fits all healing and for this I am very excited and grateful. I am a part of this evolution and I have designed my private practice to reflect this in both it’s person-centered healing style and how I do not tell people they need healing or suggest to people they can solve their problem or reach their dreams or goals in a certain timeline or monetary commitment.
Healing is so much more creative and actively alive than that. Healing is a return to self-connection and wholeness. This path is unique for all of us. I honor the agency each person has to truly know themselves when and what they want to work on, for how long and with whom (what works for you?).

August 2021 : I name this as a great month to connect more with (or renew/redesign) our daily devotional time. Whether this is an hour or shorter or longer, whether it is a meditation, a time to write, walk outside, time spent with a plant or a tree or an animal — may it lead you to a loving connection with yourself. May this loving connection shine light on your wants, your needs and your heart calling(s). May this loving connection with yourself shine light on the path to relational exchanges with others that serve the highest good of all. Enjoy!
