Self-Authorship, Self-Connection, Wholeness and Respect

Person-Centered Healing with Leigh Aschoff

Person-Centered Healing with Leigh Aschoff

Have you ever experienced someone subtly questioning your self-authorship ? This can look like overt doubt or unsolicited advice or dismissive language or energetic dominance. On a basic level this is disrespect. If any of us grew up in an environment where this was common, it can be a tough one to grow out of accepting as appropriate.

Who knows what’s best for you other than you, yourself?

Knowing what is best for yourself is knowing your wants and needs. And if those have been separated from awareness, it might become a challenge to sense and know one’s wants and needs.

The return into contact with one’s wants and needs is an honorable journey.

Healing is the reorganization of self and the discovery of veiled attitudes that have a negative impact on your life and relationships. In this process comes an invitation to relax deeper into your wholeness.

S E L F — A U T H O R S H I P is taking responsibility for ourselves as adults, learning how to parent ourselves gently when needed, finding clarity in our relationship with our inner critic, practicing responding rather than reacting, being open to making mistakes and owning our part when we do, connecting and reconnecting with our wants and our needs and also grounding into our choices with appropriate surrender.

S E L F — C O N N E C T I O N is regular inquiry into what we want and what we need. This is an honorable journey that is never complete. It can become familiar yet there is no fixed completion — because we are living, changing, ever-transforming living beings!

W H O L E N E S S is a birthright for all. Healing is an unending return to an awareness of our wholeness. How can we experience a sensation of being complete even when we have unanswered questions or unfinished business? This is a paradox worth exploring.

“R E S P E C T mean communicating to others our sincere belief, that they like everyone, possess the inherent strength and capacity to make it in life; they have the right to choose their own alternatives and make their own decisions. Behind the quality of respect is the belief that all human beings are equal and all have the right to choose their own destiny.”

L E A N I N G INTO S E L F — C O N N E C T I O N is a gentle and powerful tool. The way to develop this is to learn how to ground, how to connect, how to center and how to clear. There is a loving way to detach from that which does not serve us and attach to that which does. Having an inner practice of self-connection during times of change and transition is a major support.
